PERSONAL HISTORY

   Before creating Innovative Advertising I worked as a copywriter, graphic designer, conceptual layout artist, illustrator, and ad campaign strategist for Mega Media an Advertising company in Sausalito and San Francisco. I was hired originally as an idea person after the owner of the company saw me performing stand up comedy in San Francisco.  My role at Mega Media continued to expand and

evolve within the company while I was there.

     One of the WP real estate web sites I created, www.TheRealEstateScene.com was nominated

as one of the top 7 real estate web sites in the Bay Area by Relocation.com, a national Relocation

Service.  At the present time, it has been redesigned for Santa Barbara.  A review of this site will give

you some insight into my writing, design, and social media skills.

DNA AND THE ADVERTISING CONNECTION

     

    My father was a creative genius for the J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency in New York City

and was featured in an exhibit at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. for his contributions

to television advertising from 1947 to 1977. He created and produced hundreds of hours of television commercials that he gifted to the Smithsonian. He produced “live” television commercials with celebrities at Madison Square Garden at various sporting events, and created many other ads that graced the television screen for decades. He created the very successful  "Reach Out and Touch Someone" long-distance ad campaign for AT&T and their long-distance revenues thereafter skyrocketed!

CREATIVITY IS JUST INTELLIGENCE HAVING FUN

​

     I was born in Stamford Connecticut and grew up in in a small town nearby in New York called

Pound Ridge.  Advertising is second nature to me. I lived it, breathed it, and find it fascinating.  

​

     I attended Fox Lane High School in Bedford, New York. Thereafter I attended Rollins

College in Florida, Westminster College in Missouri, and College of Marin. I majored in

Art and Psychology with a minor in Philosophy and Religion. At College of Marin, in Northern 

California, I studied Radio, Television, and Acting.

​

     In the mid-seventies, I moved to Sausalito, California where I worked as a bartender, and restaurant

manager. One of the restaurants I worked at was the www.TridentRestaurant.com. The Trident was a popular hang out for movie stars and rock and roll legends. I worked there with Robin Williams for three years. The URL  link above in this paragraph will tell you more if you feel so inclined to check it out. I created this weblog/ blog in 2006 to learn how to blog and it's had over a million views. Originally it was built on GoDaddy's "Quick Blogcast" platform that they discontinued so I moved it over to Word Press.

     This website resulted in my being interviewed by National Geographic, the site

has appeared on the Huffington Post, Wikipedia, and has resulted in two commercials

for Cuervo Tequila. The second commercial, that I appear in, was created for the

internet. The subject? The connection between the Rolling Stones and the modern-day

version of the Tequila Sunrise. All that information, including my National Geographic

interview, and Cuervo Tequila ads, are featured on the site.
